Senior IBMi Developer (Synon / RPG / CL)

• We are seeking a Senior IBMi Developer with deep experience in Synon, CL, and RPG programming to support and enhance enterprise applications. This role requires strong analytical skills, technical leadership, and a deep understanding of IBMi systems and work management. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver with a proactive attitude, able to write high-quality code and participate in Agile development processes.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed technical specifications, designs, and user stories for system enhancements.
• Write high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code based on business requirements.
• Troubleshoot system defects and implement enhancements to existing functionality.
• Identify bottlenecks in data workflows and propose scalable solutions.
• Conduct research and fact-finding to define application scope and objectives.
• Provide escalated support and resolve complex issues raised by IT Customer Support.
• Participate in and lead code reviews, ensuring all follow-up actions are completed.
• Adhere to company policies and practices related to the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Actively participate in all Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, etc.).
• Maintain strong relationships with vendors to coordinate IT service and product delivery.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or necessary.

Minimum Requirements:

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in software development on IBMi (AS/400) platforms.
• Strong expertise in Synon (CA 2E) and CL programming.
• Solid understanding of DB2/400 and database design concepts.
• Experience with RPG programming (RPG III/IV or Free RPG).
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills in both interactive and batch environments.
• In-depth knowledge of IBMi Work Management (job queues, subsystems, system performance, etc.).
• Familiarity with features and functionality in current IBMi operating systems.

• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
